A message from the Big Pond Board of Directors regarding the Potential Cell Tower Near Big Pond
Recently, the town of Otis had an information session concerning the addition of a new cell tower that abuts the Great Woods Road. Since everyone who attended was unable to speak, the town said that there will be a second information session in the near future.
The Big Pond Association Board of Directors has been meeting to discuss this issue. Here is what we know right now, and what we have been doing for our lake and community.
We have been in communication with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation of Recreation, Massachusetts Fish and Wildlife Commission and other affected stakeholders to learn more about the proposed tower and how it could affect the environment surrounding Big Pond.
We are also looking into what we, as an association within the confines of our by-laws and our 501(c)3 status, are capable of doing.
Presently, we believe that your personal advocacy is our best option to chart forward. The voices of individual owners can be amplified by expressing your concerns in the following forums: online petitions, fund raising actions, attendance at town meetings, etc.
As new information becomes available, we will share it with our members and the community via the website and email.
Respectfully,
Big Pond Association Board of Directors
